A Date Night with the Hubs

So D and I went out to eat tonight... we went to our "special place." That would be Benihana Japanese Steakhouse. We love it! Its a TON of food and the prices are high but its such a great experience and lots of fun.

We actually were celebrating Valentines Day a little early. Last year we went out on Valentines Day and have learned our lesson! Its incredibly busy, the menu is "shortened and specialized" and long wait times for tables even WITH reservations. We wanted to go the week before Valentines Day but I have to have some dental work done (more on that in another post) so we wanted to get out early.

D and I are not seafood eaters... unless its at Benihana. We love their shrimp and lobster. D usually gets the Filet Mignon and Lobster and I get the Filet Mingnon and Shrimp. I have gotten that the last 3 visits but I think tonight will be the last time I get it.

You see, every evening after we leave the restaurant I get VIOLENTLY ill, stomach ill... the kind of ill you REALLY do not want me to talk about if you know what I mean. It usually hits about 30 min after we are finished eating. I have come to the conclusion that its the shrimp. That is the only "new food" that I have introduced to my body in each of these visits. So no more shrimp...... but its SO GOOD!

Overall it was a wonderful evening. This (will be) is the 2nd Valentines day we have been together (married for both, we met after Valentines day the year we were married) and it is very special and sweet to spend an evening with the one you love.

Now if the toliet would only realize that its not the one I was refering to..........

Hello again!

I cannot BELIEVE its already January 22, 2009! Seriously... it is surprising and yet welcome because up here in the frozen tundra, January and February can feel mighty long. The quicker spring gets here the better!

Not a lot has been going on here in our lives. Still enjoying married life, cooking more at home and playing games of all kinds, we live a simple yet happy life.

I suppose I can talk about Christmas!

This year we drove down to Georgia to spend Christmas week with my in laws. My sister in law lives in Georgia and that is where the family gathers each year for the holiday. My mother and father in law drove down as well. It was nice to spend time with everyone and get to know my in laws a bit more. I took lots of pictures of our youngest niece and nephew. I did not get many of our oldest niece as she is 16 and likes to spend time alone in her room but I have a few. I still need to do a lot of editing.

We were in Georgia for about a week. We ended up leaving a day early because everyone was getting sick. We were hoping to beat the "sickies" but ended up getting pretty sick when we arrived home. It was nice to be in our own home though instead of on the road. I ended up with a really bad case of the "crud" that never wanted to leave. D was a bit more worse off. He had a bad sinus infection. Then wouldn't you know, about a week and a half into his antibiotics he started showing signs of an allergic reaction! So now both of us have to stay away from all the "cillins."

Now we are both healthy which is a very nice feeling. Feeling a bit of cabin fever right now. We are not winter people so we do not enjoy winter sports much. I am so looking forward to spring!

I am going to save any more updates for future posts. I hope to have some pictures up soon!
